Dance

9am- Ballet:
The goal of this class is to impart the fundamentals of classical ballet . This class focuses on basic ballet technique, proper body alignment, french terminology and musicality.

10am- Modern:
Modern Dance appeals to the creative, artistic soul in everyone because of its expressiveness and freedom of individuality. The students focus on movement from the inside out, encouraging use of breath, energy, and connection.

11am- Hip Hop:
Hip Hop focuses on rhythm, syncopation and stage presence. Derived from a combination of jazz funk and street jazz, this style of dance requires high energy, attention to detail and an understanding of complex rhythms.

 

 

Drama

9am- Into to Drama:
This class offers students the opportunity to develop skills in communication, creativity, critical thinking while building self-confidence through the explorations of improvisation, monologue and scene study work– all while being a part of an ensemble of learning.

10am- Drama Voice & Diction:
Effective self-expression in communication, with emphasis on voice, diction and vocabulary. Students practice voice development, lessons instruct students in expressiveness and volume projection. Inflections, articulations, speech rates, phrasing, breath and vibration techniques are also explored in this class.

11am- Improv:
This class introduces the basics of how to perform long-form improv. Students will learn how to use “yes-and,” playing at the top of your intelligence, active listening and support to create improvised scenes.

 


Music

9am- Intro to Music Theory:
Students will be introduced to basic music fundementals. If you’re serious about music, these are fundamental concepts you need to understand and master.

10am- Music Theory:
Intermediate music theory lessons, ear training, musical notation, melodic systems, harmonies, meters, and rhythmic techniques with the goal of attaining competence in the performance and creation of music.

11am- Group Piano Class (Limited Space):
If you’ve always wanted to play the piano, now’s the time to learn! No prior piano experience or ability is necessary! Over the course of 10 weeks, you’ll learn to read music and play piano in a fun, stress free environment.


*Youth Company- Our new Kingdom Performing Arts Company (KPAC) offers our younger students the opportunity to experience what it is like to be a professional dancer,musician, and actor. As a company member, performers learn to work in an environment with higher expectations and a more performance based setting than the average academy program. Students engage in rigorous rehearsals with the reward of year round performance opportunities. Our advanced students are welcome to audition! We will only meet once a week during the 2015-2016 Fall semester, but we will most likely increase to two days per week in the winter semester.
